Support for families affected by the volcanic eruption

On the Canary Island of La Palma, the volcano around Cumbre Vieja erupted on September 19, 2021, on the west side of Isla Bonita. In the 85-day eruption with about 9,000 accompanying earthquakes, a total of 1,219 hectares of land and about 100 km of roads were covered by lava, which also destroyed an estimated 3,000 buildings. The consequences are extensive: about 7,000 people had to leave their homes behind, and many more can no longer work on the local farmland or in tourism.

We support local initiatives to make a small contribution to reconstruction in the disaster area.
